Happy Easter.

Happy Easter. Allow me to join in wishing you a happy and joyful Easter. Today is Holy Saturday, the penultimate day of the Easter Passion Week. The sun rose in Prague at 5:41 a.m., but before that dawn began a few minutes after five, when it is already possible to carry out most activities outside without artificial lighting. Christian vigils await us tomorrow night, which are a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ during the Great Night from Saturday to Sunday. This year, an administrative act will also take place during this night and the clocks will be moved forward by one hour, and the sunrise in Prague will occur at 6:41 a.m. and dawn will also begin after six o'clock. In previous articles, I proposed a different, new procedure for implementing seasonal time changes. Accordingly, we would move the clocks forward by just two minutes a day from the beginning of March. We would keep the sunrise around the same time. (exactly between 6:46 and 6:41). And so there woul...

Spring is advancing

Spring is advancing by leaps and bounds, March is already halfway over and the day is still approaching when everyone's clocks will be moved forward one hour at night from 02:00 to 03:00. Last time I published an article under the title "Spring is almost upon us", proposing a new procedure for implementing these seasonal time changes. This new method of seasonal time change would completely eliminate the negative consequences of the one-hour time jump on people's psyche and would not disturb human health. According to this new procedure, today, March 20, we would already have the time shifted by a full 40 minutes towards summer time, and at the end of March, the clocks would show according to summer time. The timetables would not have to change either. For illustration, I have prepared a graphic representation of when the sun rises and sets in Prague throughout this year.   The dashed line indicates the times according to the current procedure with a leap change of 1...

Well, spring is approaching.

Well, spring is approaching. And it awaits us again, the time will change by an hour. Every year there is a large amount of discussion on the Internet about the issue of seasonal time changes. The sun is the source for most life on earth. The most important moment of the day is dawn. All of nature is awakening to a new daily cycle in anticipation of an influx of new energy. This synchronizes the so-called biological clocks of all organisms dependent on solar energy. The moment of dawn depends on the rotation of the planet Earth, the inclination of its axis of rotation, the position of the planet in its elliptical path around the Sun during the year, and also the position of the observer on the surface of the earth (i.e. latitude and longitude). Since ancient times, people have created society in order to cooperate with each other and make reasonable use of the surrounding natural resources. Therefore, they gradually introduced rules such as the calendar, clocks, time zones, leap y...
